Theme: "Synergizing Education and Advancing Clinical Outcomes in Medical Physics"
About the Theme
This year's theme serves as a vital bridge between academic development and clinical excellence. By merging SEACOMP’s regional legacy—rooted in the educational standards of the ASEAN College of Medical Physics (ACOMP)—with PCMP’s dedicated focus on Philippine medical physics practice, the event creates a unique synergy between local expertise and international innovation. This collaboration ensures that the shared knowledge and professional connections forged across Southeast Asia translate directly into improved healthcare standards and superior patient outcomes, reinforcing a unified commitment to advancing medical physics at both the local and regional levels.
About SEACOMP
SEACOMP: Uniting
Medical Physicists
Across Southeast Asia
Established in 2001, the Southeast Asia Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP) is the flagship events of the Southeast Asian Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (SEAFOMP). Originally a small regional gathering in Kuala Lumpur, it has evolved into a premier international congress that rotates throughout Southeast Asia. By frequently partnering with the Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP), the event fosters a unique blend of scientific innovation and cultural exchange, even leading to the 2014 creation of the ASEAN College of Medical Physics (ACOMP) to formalize regional education.

Uniting medical physicists across Southeast Asia, SEACOMP’s core mission to bridge professional gaps and harmonize healthcare standards supplements the region's goal in developing the medical physics profession. It serves as a vital platform for hundreds of delegates to share knowledge and build lasting professional connections. More than just a scientific conference, SEACOMP is a celebration of community and collaboration, dedicated to driving the growth of medical physics and improving patient care throughout the region.
Together, we’re advancing medical physics for a healthier future.

About the City
Manila: Pearl of the Orient
Manila, the vibrant heart of the Philippines, is a captivating blend of centuries-old history and modern, high-energy urban life. Known as the "Pearl of the Orient," the city offers a unique tapestry where Spanish colonial architecture in the walled city of Intramuros stands in beautiful contrast to the soaring skyscrapers of the contemporary skyline. Visitors can wander through the cobblestone streets of Fort Santiago, marvel at the Baroque majesty of San Agustin Church, or take a leisurely stroll along the scenic Manila Baywalk to witness a world-famous golden sunset. Beyond its historical landmarks, Manila is a culinary and cultural powerhouse, home to the world’s oldest Chinatown in Binondo and a spirit of hospitality that is as warm as the tropical climate. It is a city of resilient beauty and endless discovery, inviting every traveler to experience its storied past and its pulse-pounding future.

It is with great pride and pleasure that I welcome all delegates, colleagues, and friends to the 24th Southeast Asian Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP) and the 7th Philippine Conference on Medical Physics (PCMP). This year’s joint congress, hosted in the Philippines, is both a celebration of scientific collaboration and a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to advancing the field of medical physics in Southeast Asia.
Our theme, “Synergizing Education and Advancing Clinical Outcomes in Medical Physics,” captures the essence of what sustains our profession — the dynamic interplay between education, research, and clinical practice. Medical physics thrives when knowledge gained in the academic setting is transformed into clinical wisdom, and when clinical experiences, in turn, inform the next wave of innovation and inquiry.
In this regard, clinical medical physicists play a vital role as the bridge between knowledge and practice. They not only ensure the safe and effective application of technology in patient care but also serve as mentors who guide young physicists in navigating the realities of the clinical environment. Through mentorship and shared experience, we cultivate the next generation of competent and compassionate professionals who will continue to uphold the standards of excellence in our discipline.
Equally important is our continued effort to return to the grassroots of education and research. By investing in foundational training, fostering critical thinking, and supporting scientific inquiry, we build a community of well-equipped medical physicists capable of responding to the evolving needs of healthcare. Our collective growth as a profession depends on the strength of these roots — on how well we nurture learning at every level and in every setting.
As we embark on this congress, may it serve as an avenue for collaboration, inspiration, and renewal. Let us continue to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and reaffirm our role as essential contributors to healthcare innovation and patient well-being.
On behalf of the Society of Medical Physicists in the Republic of the Philippines (SMPRP), I extend my warmest welcome to all participants and guests. May this congress spark meaningful exchanges, lasting connections, and a renewed passion for advancing medical physics — for our patients, our institutions, and our region.
Maraming salamat, and welcome to SEACOMP and PCMP 2026!
