Terms & Conditions of Use

Welcome to the official website of the Society of Medical Physicists in the Republic of the Philippines, Inc. (SMPRP).

  1. The SMPRP is a non-profit, non-stock, and non-governmental professional organization. Our operations are dedicated solely to the advancement of Medical Physics, the promotion of professional welfare, and the fostering of cooperation among medical allied professions. As a non-profit entity, all funds collected through this Site—including membership dues and event fees—are reinvested into the Society’s mission and professional development programs.

  2. By accessing this Site, you agree to these Terms.

    • Professional Scope: This Site serves the Medical Physics community.

    • Age Requirement: Users must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

    • Non-Profit Status: You acknowledge that your engagement with this Site supports the objectives of a non-profit organization.

  3. In accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, SMPRP is committed to protecting your personal information. As a professional organization, we collect data only to verify membership, facilitate professional accreditation, and process event registrations. Your data will never be sold for commercial purposes.

  4. The scientific content, research, and educational materials provided on this Site are the property of SMPRP or its members. While we encourage the dissemination of knowledge for non-commercial, educational purposes, unauthorized reproduction for-profit is strictly prohibited.

  5. Payments processed through this Site and its associated payment gateways or modalities (e.g., Paypal,, GCash, Maya, Bank Transfer) are categorized as follows:

    • Membership Fees / Dues: Payments made for the application, renewal, or maintenance of professional standing within the Society.

    • Event Tickets / Access: Registration fees for conventions, webinars, workshops, and other professional development activities.

    • Other Goods and Services: This includes, but is not limited to, certification fees, printed publications, official merchandise, or processing fees in line with the SMPRP organizational objectives.

  6. Return and Refund Policy

    • As a non-stock, non-profit organization, SMPRP operates on a budget allocated for the advancement and fulfillment of its organizational goals as a professional organization. In compliance with Philippine laws, our refund policy is structured as follows:

      • Membership Fees / Dues - Generally Non-Refundable. Once a membership is processed in accordance with the SMPRP Constitution and By-Laws, the individual gains immediate access to the Society’s non-tangible professional benefits and database. Refunds are only considered in cases of proven double-payment or system errors.

      • Event Tickets / Access - Requests for refunds must be sent to info@smprp.org at least ten (10) business days prior to the event. A small administrative fee may be deducted to cover payment gateway charges, where applicable. Failure to attend a registered event ("No-show") does not entitle the user to a refund, though access to recorded materials may be provided where applicable. In most cases, event access is transferable to another SMPRP member upon written notice subject to final approval by the SMPRP.

      • Other Goods and Services - For physical goods (e.g., publications), we abide by the "No Return, No Exchange" prohibition of the Consumer Act. If a product is defective, you are entitled to a replacement or a full refund. Access to downloadable digital materials is non-refundable once the download link has been generated or accessed.

  7.  Limitation of Liability - The SMPRP, provides information on an "as-is" basis. While we strive for scientific accuracy, the Society and its Trustees are not liable for any professional errors, omissions, or damages resulting from the use of materials found on this Site.

  8. Prohibited Conduct - Users are prohibited from using the Site to:

    • Engage in commercial advertising or "spamming."

    • Post libelous or defamatory content regarding the Society or its members.

    • Attempt to circumvent the payment gateways for membership or event access.

    • And other types of uses illegal or not compliant with Philippine Laws and relevant rules and regulations.

  9. Governing Law and Venue - These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any legal disputes arising from these Terms or the use of this Site shall be filed exclusively in the proper courts of the City of Manila.
