Dear Members of the Society of Medical Physicists in the Republic of the Philippines (SMPRP),
It is with great excitement that we announce the opening of nominations for the next set of Board of Trustees of the SMPRP. As per Article IV of the 2019 SMPRP Rules and Regulations, it is time for us to come together and elect the leaders who will guide our society for the next two years.
The nomination period will run from May 7 to May 9, 2024, providing ample time for members to nominate individuals they believe will serve the SMPRP with dedication, integrity, and vision. We encourage all eligible members to participate actively in this crucial process as we shape the future of our organization.
To oversee the nomination process and ensure its fairness and transparency, an ad interim Elections Committee (EC) has been established. We are privileged to have Ms. Melanie Marquez, the outgoing SMPRP President, leading the EC. Under her capable leadership, we are confident that the election process will be conducted with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
The announcement of nominees and the commencement of the election proper will take place during the SMPRP Annual General Assembly at the Philippine Conference on Medical Physics (PCMP) in Cebu City. This gathering provides an excellent opportunity for members to engage with the nominees, learn about their platforms, and make informed decisions.
As members of SMPRP, each of us plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of our society. By actively participating in the nomination and election process, we contribute to the strength and vitality of SMPRP, ensuring that it continues to serve the needs of medical physicists across the Philippines.
